Methodology
How TimeLinq articles are selected, written, verified and corrected, and where the displayed data comes from.
Sources
Articles rely solely on a list of authorized sources (RSS feeds and public APIs), classified into three tiers:
- Level 1, primary sources : central banks, statistical institutes, market authorities, official company press releases.
- Tier 2, reference press : recognized agencies and economic publications.
- Level 3, other sources : used only as a supplement, never on their own.
The status of each source (last successful collection, errors) is monitored; a source that repeatedly fails is flagged and may be disabled. Items collected more than 36 hours ago are not used as the basis for a new article.
Topic selection
Articles describing the same event are grouped into topics. A topic is only kept if it is corroborated : reported by at least one publisher on our list of reference sources, whose page serves as the factual basis. Topics are then ranked by their importance for markets and for a French-speaking reader.
Volume is not a goal: no more than 20 articles per day, spaced at least 20 minutes apart, published between 7 h and 22 h (Paris time). A quiet day yields fewer articles.
Drafting
For each selected topic, an AI model writes an original article based on source texts, with the instruction not to state anything that does not appear in them. The sources used are listed at the bottom of each article, with their publisher, title and date.
Pre-publication checks
An article is published only after passing automatic checks:
- Figures check : amounts, percentages and dates cited must be found in the sources.
- Originality : the text is compared against sources to rule out copied passages; quotations are short, in quotation marks and attributed.
- Factual review : a second analysis checks the article against its sources and flags unsupported claims.
- Consistency and format : headline faithful to the content, length, section, and no investment recommendation.
An article that fails any of these checks is rejected and not published. After publication, recent articles are re-verified: a source that is changed or retracted may lead to an update or withdrawal.
Corrections and withdrawals
An error found is corrected in the article, and the correction is publicly flagged on the page in the "Corrections and updates" box, with its date. Added information is flagged as updates.
An article whose substance proves false or misleading is Withdrawn : the page remains accessible with the mention "Article withdrawn", the date and reason for withdrawal, and is no longer submitted to search engines. You can report an error from the page Contact.
Publication discontinued
Automatic publishing may be suspended at any time by the publication manager, by the server configuration, or automatically by monitoring when sources or data become unreliable. Generation also stops when the daily AI spending cap is reached.
Use of AI
Article written with the help of artificial intelligence from the cited sources, then subjected to automated checks (verification of figures, originality, consistency).
Each article mentions it. AI does not decide on its own what gets published: the selection rules, controls and publication-stop procedures described above apply to all articles.
Market data
- Stocks, indices and commodities : Yahoo Finance. Quotes may be delayed (often by 15 to 20 minutes depending on the exchange); they are updated approximately every 3 minutes.
- Cryptocurrencies : CoinGecko, euro prices aggregated across several platforms, updated approximately every 2 minutes.
- Exchange rates : European Central Bank reference rates, published once per business day around 4 p.m. (Paris time).
Each displayed data point shows its source and update time. An inconsistent value (impossible change, zero price) is hidden rather than displayed. When a provider does not respond, the last known value remains displayed and flagged as outdated.
