How this calculation is made
The European Central Bank publishes euro reference rates against the main currencies every business day, around 4 p.m. (Paris time). TimeLinq retrieves them via the Frankfurter service, which republishes these rates, and shows their publication date.
Since all rates are quoted against the euro, conversion between two other currencies goes through the euro (cross rate):
1 unit of A = (units of B for 1 €) / (units of A for 1 €) units of B
- Reference rates are not updated on weekends or ECB holidays.
- Banks, payment cards and currency exchange offices apply their own rates, often with a margin or commissions.
The results are simulations based on the stated assumptions. They do not predict future results and do not take your personal situation into account. The information published on TimeLinq is for informational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice. Investing involves a risk of capital loss.
